Terms of Service
Last updated: April 6, 2026
These terms govern your use of Twang, an AI-native email client for macOS developed by GroundUp Ventures Ltd. ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using Twang, you agree to these terms.
1. Alpha Software
Twang is currently in alpha. This means:
- The software may contain bugs and incomplete features
- Features may change or be removed without notice
- We may reset data or require re-authentication during updates
- The service may be interrupted for maintenance
Alpha users get Twang free forever. If we introduce paid plans in the future, alpha users will retain free access to all features available at the time of their activation. We make no guarantees about availability, reliability, or fitness for any particular purpose.
2. Access
Access to Twang requires a valid invite code. Invite codes are non-transferable and may be revoked at our discretion. Each code is valid for one user.
3. Your Account
Twang connects to your Gmail account via Google's OAuth 2.0. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account. We do not store your Google password.
4. Your Data
Your emails and data remain yours. Twang stores your data locally on your Mac. We do not claim ownership of your email content, contacts, or any data processed by the application. See our Privacy Policy for details on data handling.
5. AI Features
Twang uses artificial intelligence to analyze emails, generate drafts, and provide signals. You understand that:
- AI-generated content (signals, drafts, tags) may be inaccurate
- You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated email drafts before sending
- AI analysis is for informational purposes — it should not replace professional judgment for legal, financial, or medical decisions
- If using cloud AI, email content is PII-sanitized before transmission (see Privacy Policy)
6. Skills Platform
Twang's Skills platform allows you to install third-party extensions. You understand that:
- Community skills are not reviewed or endorsed by us
- Skills run locally on your Mac with the permissions you approve on installation
- You are responsible for reviewing skill permissions before installation
- We are not liable for any damage caused by third-party skills
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
- Use Twang to send spam, malware, or illegal content
- Share your invite code with others or sell access
- Attempt to circumvent the invite system or any security measures
- Use the application in ways that violate Gmail's Terms of Service
8. Intellectual Property
Twang, its code, design, and branding are the property of GroundUp Ventures Ltd. The alpha license grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the application. This license does not grant rights to our source code, trademarks, or intellectual property beyond normal application use.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
TWANG IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APPLICATION WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GROUNDUP VENTURES LTD. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF TWANG.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to Twang at any time, for any reason, including violation of these terms. You may stop using Twang at any time by deleting the application and using the Secure Wipe feature to remove all local data.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms as Twang evolves. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via the app's update notes.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of Tel Aviv-Yafo.
